An equestrian tavern in Malvern, brought to life by a family with four generations of hospitality behind it.
Malvern’s Equestrian Tavern
The Jockey opened its doors in November 2024 with a simple idea... to create the kind of tavern we would want to spend an evening in ourselves. Warm, lively, and right at home in horse country, with scratch-made tavern fare, proper drinks, and hospitality that makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile.
Inside, stone fireplaces, warm wood, plaid, brass lighting, and walls filled with racing and sporting art give each room its own character. Look a little closer and you’ll find the details... horses tucked among the bookshelves, Finnegan the Fox appearing all around, classic toile, deep red walls, and collected pieces that feel as though they have been here for generations.
Outside, striped awnings shade the Porch and Veranda, with the Veranda Bar pouring when the weather plays along.
Come for dinner. Stay for another round.
Four Generations of Hospitality
The Jockey opened in 2024, but our family’s story in hospitality started long before that.
For four generations, the Mangan family has built its restaurants around a few simple principles: quality food, genuine hospitality, and keeping the place spic ’n span.
Those lessons have been passed down from one generation to the next... through dinner-table stories, long nights in the restaurant business, and years spent learning that the smallest details are often the ones guests remember.
Today, that tradition continues at The Jockey, alongside our sister restaurants, Will’s & Bill’s Brewery in Berwyn and The Crown Tavern in Glen Mills.
For us, hospitality has never felt much like a career. It’s simply what our family does.

From roasted tomato bisque to meatloaf and the bacon jam on our burger, our kitchen believes the little things are worth making ourselves.
